LEVEL A

These books are very easy for young children to read. Many of these books focus on a single idea or have a simple story line. Children can relate to the story topics to their personal experience. Books have one line of words on a page. The print is clearly separated from the pictures with lots of space between words. Teachers can use these books to introduce children to word-to-word match and locating known words. The following titles are examples of books that might be available in a public library. Your public librarian could be another resource in locating additional titles. When looking for other titles take this description of Level A books as a reference.
