Who We Are:
Basehor‐Linwood Virtual School provides students with an outstanding connection to accredited public school resources, certified teachers, and standardized curriculum and assessments. It is important that all students and parents understand that our program is created by district teachers to mirror the concepts and standards being taught in the brick and mortar classroom. Since Basehor-Linwood Virtual School teachers are full-time in the building, the expectation is that learning is facilitated by parents with no direct teacher instruction. Your child’s teacher is available by email or by appointment for consultation on strategies to help your student master the concepts being taught.
Students are expected to engage in 30 hours of academic time each week (15 hours for kindergarteners). That learning can be flexible since courses are self-paced and available 24/7. The course work for each subject is laid out in its entirety so that parents and students can create a schedule that works for them. Each student’s course progress will be monitored on a weekly basis by the Basehor-Linwood Virtual School office administration. If a student is not making adequate progress then a plan will be put in place to get the student back on track. Communication is key!
